Strides for Peace established the Strategic Leadership Council to more formally recognize the central role that our Community Partners play in our mission, vision, programs and priorities: their leadership embodies our core values.

Our Community Partners bring an intrinsic and strategic value to our work through lived and professional experience, as well as a deep understanding of opportunities and barriers to increase impact in the collective effort to end gun violence.

Representing communities most impacted by gun violence and organizations employing a range of organizational structures and strategies, our Strategic Leadership Council is intentionally comprised of a diversity of approaches with a shared commitment to collaboration and community empowerment.

Our Community Partners have the trust of their communities and we believe communities have the answers to ending gun violence. We are grateful for the support and partnership of the Strategic Leadership Council and excited to deepen and expand our work to build a Chicago where all can thrive, free from the fear of gun violence.
