Organic Oneness in collaboration with the CPS Office of Family & Community Engagement, UChicago Education Lab, Peace Hub (UCAN), and other community partners are hosting the Annual “Be the Healing” Conference taking place on April 29 and 30, 2021. The Conference will address topics of systemic racism, intergenerational and historical trauma, mental health and COVID-19, and provide improvement strategies through an inspirational and solution-oriented lens.

The conference will be conducted in a two-day virtual format, broken into morning and afternoon sessions. The morning presentations will be covered by the world-renowned content expert, Dr. Joy DeGruy, Chief Equity Officer of Chicago Public Schools, Dr. Maurice Swinney, and Mayor’s Office Chief Equity Officer, Candace Moore. Chicago experts will lead afternoon breakout sessions addressing various types of trauma at the individual, community, and systemic levels.

As a group we finally cultivated a beautiful plan that involves youth, diverse range of partnerships, and crucial topics that we can all use across all fields of work, and roles in the community. Please share the attached (png) flyer, information page, and link for recommended speakers – “Be The Healing” Conference Speaker Registration. We are currently working on a registration link and will send it once completed.

ASK: Please let us know of any sponsors/partners that are interested along with excellent speakers to recommend for the conference. The more robust our funding the more beneficial, accessible, and sustainable this effort becomes.
