New Community Outreach 2021 Garden to Table Program

Volunteer opportunity in Bronzeville!
Last year, we wanted to create a restorative space for our Bronzeville neighbors amidst the pandemic where circumstances inevitably perpetuated food insecurity. Our garden, located at Jackie Robinson Elementary, became a space and a means to increase our neighbors’ access to free, fresh produce and have safe spaces for social connection.
We are excited to implement our second year of the Garden to Table Program, but we need your help! We need volunteers for the various phases of our garden season – both one-time as well as ongoing opportunities.
Here’s are ways you can get involved:
Clean/Plant, Part 2: Saturday, 5/1, 9-11am
Water: Volunteers who can commit to watering the garden once a week (Takes about 30-45min).
Harvest: Saturdays beginning mid-June from 8:30-10:00am (can be weekly or even a few times over the season)
Distribute: Saturdays beginning mid-June from 9:30-11:00am (can be weekly or even a few times over the season)
Assemble Non-Perishable Care Packages: Flexible
